Energy Medicine

Energy_Man-1One of the fastest growing healing modalities is energy medicine.  Because everything is energy it makes sense that using energy to heal is natural.  One of the formost energy healers is Donna Eden.  Donna as a young mother was diagnosed with MS.  She went to doctor after doctor for help but was told her condition could not be healed and she would eventually become incapacitated.  Since she was the mother of a young child, that diagnosis was not acceptable.  Donna would not accept there was nothing that could heal her.  So, she began searching for a way to heal herself.  She began reading and studying alternative healing methods.  As  she studied she was drawn to learning about energy cycles, and energy meridians.  She became convinced healing would come through understanding and working with her body’s energy cycles.   Working with these cycles she began to clear blocked energy from her body’s energy pathways.   She healed herself of MS and began working with others sharing what she had learned.  She founded one of the most successful energy healing clinics in the nation.

It’s amazing when we begin to understand how we are all connected to Mother Earth.  The earth has energy meridians.  We cycle through those meridians as the earth rotates every twenty four hours.  These meridians affect the functioning of our bodies.  Everything….our heart, small intestine, bladder, kidney, sex and circulation, fight and flight, gall bladder, liver, lung, large intestine, stomach and spleen….is affected at its appointed time by earth’s meridians. Each of these body functions has an energy meridian or energy pathway through our body.   When these meridian pathways are functioning properly we experience vibrant health.  When any of these pathways are blocked, disease occurs.

Have you ever wondered what causes jetlag?  You board an airplane in Salt Lake City at 8:00 AM.  You sit in a comfortable seat, listen to music, read a book, or watch a movie while you sip on a drink and eat some peanuts.  Four hours later you arive at your destination.  It is now noon.  You have not done anything strenuous, but you’re tired and lethargic.  What’s going on?  It doesn’t make any sense, but sure enough you feel “beat.”  Why?

Our bodies are governed by earth’s energy meridians.  While in flight, you have passed over the meridins that normally regulate your body into another time zone of meridians.  It takes your body time to catch up with the new zone and get you back in sync.  But if you know your body’s energy meridians, you can trace each of your meridians with your hands beginning with the new time zone and work your way all around the clock.  When you have traced all of your meridians beginning and ending with the current zone, the jetlag disappears.  Now that’s what I call super amazing!  If you travel and want to avoid jetlag, get Donna Eden’s great book, Energy Medicine.    Avoiding jetlag is as easy as tracing your body’s energy meridians and takes only a couple of minutes.

I highly recommend Donna Eden’s books on energy healing.  She has developed a daily ten minute energy routine to get your energy meridians in sync.  In her ten minute routine there are exercises to boost and restore energy, help with balance and coordination, mind focus, sharpen your memory, clear negativity, stimulate fresh energy flow and much more.  You can see Donna Eden on You Tube or go to www.theinnersourcestore.com. to purchase any of her wonderful books.

For now, Earlynn’s just sayin’;  “Get your energy in sync for a happier, healthier you.”

Look at Me!

children at play

“Look at me!   I’m here!  Can’t you see me?”  These are the words of any small child.  As a child grows, these are important requests.  Young children need to be nurtured and, to a large extent derive their sense of self-worth based on how well others respond to their needs.  As parents we are responsible to provide for their welfare and give them a loving and safe environment in which to grow and learn the skills necessary to become independant, loving and responsible members of society.  In fact, a parent’s ultimate goal is to teach their children so well they become independant and no longer need them.

Not long ago I read an article addressing the problem of adults with low self esteem.   Psychologists felt low self esteem to some extent may be caused by busy parents who do not take time to look into their child’s eyes while listening to them.  Because of this children assume they are unimportant and carry that belief into adulthood.  It is important that parents from time to time take the time to look into their children’s eyes affirming the child’s importance, especially during a child’s formative years, when they look to others for assurance of their value.

The truth is no one can give 100% attention to their children, so there are times a child may feel ignored.  There are times a child will feel unappreciated.  There are times a child feels neglected.  There are times a child is not the center of attention.  God sent them into this world knowing these things would be part of their experience.  As parents we need to give our children tools to help them through these experiences with strengthened self esteem.

We live in a world that teaches happiness, success and self esteem are achieved through the good opinion of others, or through acquisition of material possessions, or fame, or good grades.  The list goes on and on.  Children need to be taught that happiness is always a result of the way they think.  It is never what others think of you that matters.  What really matters is what YOU think of YOU.  Help your children develop a sense of independant thinking.   Teach them that nothing outside of themselves will ever make them happy.  Happiness always comes from within.

Children need to understand it is not selfish to honor the divine within.  It is  a necessary part of happiness.  The emphasis on helping others is so strong at times we miss the point that we must first love ourselves before we can truly love another.  We can never give love to another if we do not have love for ourselves.  We  came into this life for the purpose of experiencing who WE are,  but we get side-tracked and start trying to be like someone else.   We suppose someone else is smarter, better looking, more talented, ect.  You are a divine aspect of God…..no one else can be you and you cannot be anyone else.  Teach your children to love and appreciate the unique set of talents and abilities God has given them.   These talents and abilities are not random but were designed especially for their experience.  So if there is something that seems difficult, embrace that as part of the experience of being YOU.  It’s alright.  Find YOUR talents…..use those talents…be happy and appreciate who YOU are.

When the time comes for our children to become parents, they, too,  will hear their children say, “Look at me…I’m here.  Can’t you see me?”  It is then they will teach their children;   “THE ONLY ONE WHO NEEDS TO SEE ME IS ME.”

For now, Earlynn’s just sayin’;   “Accept, embrace, and be grateful for the unique set of talents and abilities that make YOU who YOU are.”

The Fruit of Action

meditation

The purpose of meditation is to train our mind to live in the present moment of NOW.  Our mind if unattended keeps us entirely in thoughts of the past or the future.  Have you ever experienced being somewhere physically, but your mind was one thousand miles away?  You may as well not have been there.  If our mind is constantly caught up in the past or the future, the present moment of NOW may as well not exist.  Our mind does not understand the importance of NOW.  A constant thought stream of non-productive ‘woulda’, ‘coulda’, ‘shoulda’ and ‘someday I’ll” runs through it which totally distracts from the NOW.  Often our mind thinks of NOW as an inconvenience preventing us from experiencing our future.  The mind fails to realize that everything that has happened and everything that ever will happen has occured in a present moment of NOW.  NOW is where our power lies.  It is the only base from which action can occur.  And it is the only place where peace abounds.

Meditation trains our mind to be in the precious moment of NOW.  When our mind becomes silent we enter a state where thought is not necessary.  Ideas and inspiration come through telepathy.   When compulsive striving away from the NOW ceases, the joy of Being flows into everything you  do.  As your attention turns to NOW, you feel stillness and peace.

When you honor the NOW and you act from present-moment awareness, every action is imbued with  a sense of care and love.  When you become totally engrossed in a project you love, you are in the NOW and time loses it’s grip.  Hours seem like minutes.  Give your full attention to whatever NOW presents and completely accept what is.   You cannot give full attention to something and at the same time resist it.  Don’t be concerned with the fruit of your action, just pay attention to the action itself.  Do even the simplest action with love and care and fruit of it will come of its own volition.  Ask yourself if there is joy, ease, and lightness in what I am doing?  If not, you are not in the NOW and time is covering up the present moment.  It may be that you need to consider HOW you are doing what you are doing.  How is always more important that WHAT.

We tend to be impatient and want to see the fruit of our actions immediately.  But your role  may be to plant a seed that will bear fruit at a later time.   An ancient and powerful spiritual practice is to let go of the need to see the fruit of our action.  Do what your heart and the present moment tell you to do in a spirit of love and detach from the results.  The fruit will come but not necessarily as you have envisioned or on your schedule.

For now, Earlynn’s just sayin’:  “Do what you do in the present moment in a spirit of love and care.  Know it is enough  because YOU are enough.  The fruit of your action will come in its own way and on its own time schedule.”

Rainbows

Double-alaskan-rainbowToday I was reading about the recent severe weather…..tornadoes, rain, wind, drought, and flooding.  After reading one such news report on the internet, I glanced at the comments being left by readers.  The dominant thoughts being conveyed were left by people believing there is no God because He would not allow good people to be hurt nor would He allow such devastation.  Occasionally someone would write confirming their belief in God, calling the other opinions the work of Satan and worrying that our world is being over-taken by sinners and athiests.

We are all in this together.  Some have  gained a higher level of consciousness than others.  I look at it this way.  When we go to school, we advance through various grade levels.  If someone is at the Kindergaten level, he/she is no less loved by God than someone who has advanced to the level of 10th grade.  We all, and I mean all of us, have within us a spark of divine.  We are sons and daughters of God.   Some understand this and have evolved to a higher state of consciousness where they live in peace, joy and love.  Some have not discovered the spark of divine within and because of this have not evolved their consciousness and live continually in a state of worry, guilt and fear.

Many just do not know who they are or why they are here.  We are here to experience life and through life come to know experientially of our divinity.  The curriculum is set by God.  We will all come to know who we are, eventually, but we may choose to delay.  God does not love us less because we delay, but our life’s experience will definitely be affected by our delay.

Remember the children’s song, “Row, row, row your boat, gently down the stream.  Merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily, life is but a dream.”  In this dream called life, there seems to be a duality……good vs. evil, right vs. wrong, light vs. darkness, happy vs. sad and love vs. hate.  In reality God is pure love and love is ALL that is real.  It is only in this world’s seeming duality that we can truly come to know experientially who we are as sons and daughters of God or pure love.   In other words if all you know is love you cannot come to know what love truly is until you have experienced what appears to be love’s opposite.   This world was created for that purpose.   Our reason for being here is to come to know experientially who we truly are …… love.

No one comes into this world that does not want to be here.  Prior to our birth, we (our spirit or soul) decided what we wanted to experience in this incarnation that would bring us to the full experience of love and the full understanding of our true nature.  So as we see these events taking place our hearts are filled with compassion for those experiencing these disasters.  But we also know that these difficulties are designed to gain  the experience needed to come to know who we are.

We are evolving our consciousness toward the level of love.  The world is as it is because it is in a state of evolving.    God loves us all regardless of our level of consciousness.  The curriculum is set by God.  Eventually everyone will come to experience and know who they really are.  In the meantime, many choose to delay.  God does not love them less because they choose to delay.   Their lives will reflect their choices, however.

This world seems to be in a constant state of chaos especially now because a lot of misunderstandings need to come up to be healed.   Remembering who we are brings peace into our lives.  LOVE IS AND ALWAYS WILL BE THE ANSWER.  I love the analogy of the rainbow which follows the storm.  So it is in life.  There is always a blessing given after life’s trials.

For now, Earlynn’s just sayin’:  “Don’t get discouraged when you see the chaos in the world.  God is love and He is over all.  And just like the beautiful rainbow that appears after the storm, God sends his blessings to all His children after each of life’s storms.”

Focus On What You Want

The following story was told by Gurumayi in her book, Kindle My Heart:

“There was a man who did not like his in-laws because he felt they took up more space in the house than they should.  He went to a teacher who lived nearby, as he had heard a lot about him, and he said, ‘Please do something!  I cannot bear my in-laws anymore.  I love my wife, but my in-laws – never!  They take up so much space in the house; somehow I feel they are always in my way.’

The teacher asked him, ‘Do you have some chickens?’

‘Yes, I do,’ he said.

‘Then put all your chickens inside the house.’

He did what the teacher said and then went back to him.

The teacher asked, ‘Problem solved?’

He said,  ‘No!  It’s worse.’

‘Do you have any sheep?’

‘Yes.’

‘Bring all the sheep inside.’  He did so and returned to the teacher.  ‘Problem solved?’

‘No!  It’s getting worse.’

‘Do you have a dog?’

‘Yes, I have several.’

‘Take all those dogs into the house.’

Finally, the man ran back to the teacher and said, ‘I came to you for help, but you are making my life worse than ever!’

The teacher said to him, ‘Now send all the chickens, sheep, and the dogs back outside.’

The man went home and emptied the house of all the animals.  There was so much space!  He went back to the teacher.  ‘Thank you!  Thank you!’ he said.  ‘You have solved all my problems.'”

The man had focused so much attention on the space being used by his in-laws he could not appreciate the amount of unoccupied space within his home.  It was only when the total space within his home was filled that he could appreciate the empty space within his home and see his in-laws were not taking up more space than they should.

God has given us an incredibly powerful tool, the ability to focus.  What we focus on expands in our lives.  When we use that powerful tool to focus on what what we love, those things expand for us.  However, if we choose to focus on what we dislike, or what we don’t have or what we think is wrong, those things will also expand.

For now, Earlynn’s just sayin’, “Keep your focus on what you love and life will reward you.”

Ho’oponopono

1 ho'oponoponoHawaiian psychiatrist, Dr. Ihaleakala Hew Len, used an ancient Hawaiian practice,  Ho’oponopono, to cure a ward of criminally insane individuals.  The ward was so difficult to manage, the asylum found it all but  impossible to keep a psychiatrist willing to do the job.  And it was even more difficult to fill the position when it became vacant, which was all too often.  After Dr. Hew Len accepted the position, he used Ho’oponopono to cure the entire ward without either spending time with or personally meeting any of the persons incarcerated there.

Ho’oponopono teaches that to heal others, you must first heal yourself.  According to Ho’oponopono nothing in your life is “Out There.”  Everything eminates from within you.  You are responsible for your perceptions, so if you heal yourself, you will heal the world.  There are four steps to Ho’oponopono:  Repentence, Forgiveness, Gratitude and Love.

Dr. Hew Len requested that the files for the individuals under his care be kept in his office.  Every day he spent time holding a picture of each individual in his ward.  He looked  at each picture and said:

#1 – “I’m sorry.”  If everything was in his mind he could truly be sorry that he perceived someone to be criminally insane.  This statement representes repentance.

#2 – “Please forgive me.”   He repeated this statement over and over remembering his remorse from step #1.   He truly meant what he was saying and from the debth of his being he wanted to be forgiven for his misperception.  This statement represents forgiveness.

#3 – “Thank you.”  He thanked the universe, he thanked his body, he thanked his breath and he thanked God.   He kept repeating his thanks for all the good things he enjoyed in his life.  These statements represent gratitude.

#4 – I love you.”  He said it over and over.  He meant it.  He believed he was one with the universe and when he gave love to another, he gave love to himself.  Nothing is as powerful as love.

There are many who practice Ho’oponopono daily and find that when we heal ourselves we heal those around us.  If you have a troubling situation where you are perceiving someone as in need of healing or correction, remember, there is nothing “Out There.”  With Ho’oponopono you heal others by healing yourself first.

For now, Earlynn’s just sayin’ “Take a leap of faith and put Ho’oponopono to work in your life.”

The Present Moment is NOW

Sometimes the simplest things in life have the deepest meaning and are rarely understood and appreciated.  The present moment or NOW is one of those principles.  The other day I was speaking with someone I truly love who was going through ‘a refiners fire’.  A time in her life when she felt so challenged by her life’s situation as to be in a state of deep despair.  I suggested that relief from her ‘trials’ could be felt by consciously bringing herself into the now, or the present moment.   Now is the seat of action and in the present moment of now, none of her trials can exist.  Her response was that she disliked the NOW because her life was full of pain, despair,  and anxiety NOW.

She did not understand the power of NOW.  Her anxiety and pain were not in the NOW, but in her thoughts of the future.  Right NOW she was sitting with me…..someone who truly loves her,  in a comfortable chair in a lovely home.   NOW is this very moment.  To appreciate NOW our mind cannot be occupied by thoughts of either past or future.  We must be fully engaged with NOW.  To become consciously aware of NOW we must focus intently on our surroundings.  Feel the warmth of the room. Feel the chair.  Feel your feet upon the floor.  Feel your breath…..in and out.  Feel the energy of those around you.  If she had done that, she would have been able to feel she was in a safe place, sitting comfortably in an upholstered chair next to one who loves her dearly.  In this moment of NOW she was secure and sheltered.  Our minds are miraculous, but can only think one thought at a time.  When you are in the NOW, your problems and challenges disappear because you consciously make yourself aware of your surroundings.   NOW you can see that you have a situation that needs to be either dealt with or accepted.

Eckhart Tolle says it beautifully In his book, ThePower of Now.  “A “problem” means that you are dwelling on a situation mentally without there being a true intention or possibility of taking action NOW and that you are unconsciously making it part of your sense of self.  You become so overwhelmed by your life situation that you lose your sense of life, of Being……..When you create a “problem”, you create pain.  All it takes is a simple choice, a simple decision:  no matter what happens, I will create no  more pain for myself.  I will create no more problems.  Although it is a simple choice, it is also very radical.  You won’t make that choice unless you are truly fed up with suffering, unless you have truly had enough.”

Don’t make a situation into a problem…..THE SITUATION NEEDS TO BE EITHER DEALT WITH OR ACCEPTED.  Remember, only you can be you.  And you need to be true to yourself.  Take action whenever it is needed and do not concern yourself with the fruit of your action.  Just give attention to the action itself..  The fruit will come of its own accord.

For now, Earlynn’s just sayin’:  “Life is challenging enough, we don’t need to make situations into problems.”

Transformed

Your relationship with God is and always has been one of unity, prosperity, abundance, peace, love, and pure joy.  If you cannot see it, your vision is clouded.  As you clear your vision of such things as judgment, worry, guilt, and fear, the truth about your relationship to God appears, and you find yourself to be a far greater being than you have imagined yourself to be.

I believe I was inspired to write Transformed.   My book takes you with me on my transformational journey to clear my own clouded vision.  I’ll share with you simple truths I found along the spiritual path to the freedom I now enjoy.  As your friend, I’ll help you understand your true nature.   As your vision clears, you’ll realize how loved you have always been and ever will be.  As you leave worry, guilt, fear and judgment behind, your life becomes one of peace, love, and joy.  My prayer is that Transformed  will help you discover your true relaionship to God.

I was honored to be interviewed by Jennifer Morris of Hay House Radio.   Every month Hay House Radio produces an hour long show featuring new authors.  My interview is just under eight minutes long and is about half way through the program.  It aires  every Monday and Friday during the month of May.  The Monday show is at 8:00 AM MST and the Friday show is at 2:00 PM MST.  Hay House Radio is found on your computer at www.hayhouseradio.com/#.  Click on the ‘Listen Now’ tab.

Transformed is published by Balboa Press, a division of Hay House.  It is now available from Hay House, Barnes and Noble and Amazon.  You can also order it directly from me by clicking the ‘Earlynn’s Book’ tab at the top of this page.

For now, Earlynn’s Just Sayin’:  “Thank you for your kind support.  I appreciate the love and support from all who had a hand in helping my book, Transformed,  become a reality.”

Communication

Bee Gathering Nectar

Bee Gathering Nectar

New science being reported and published sounds like eco-sci-fi.   A recent report from researchers at the University of Bristol, UK,  states that scientists have discovered that flowers communicate to bees specific information:  “When a bee enters the plant’s electric field, a small electric charge develops that can transmit information.  The hairs on the bumblebee may help it receive these signals”

The flowers communicate how much pollen they have, if another bee has visited them recently, and what type of flower they are.  This communication effectively aids bees in the work they do.  It is said that the flower ‘knows’ that a bee won’t visit them if they don’t provide accrate information about their nectar or pollen.   They use positive reinforcement through electromagnetic signals to help them draw the bee in, as well as their bright colors, exotic petals and heady perfumes.  They always tell the truth about what they have to offer.

Plants are generally negatively charged since they are grounded while bees develop positive charges which can build up to 200-volts as they fly through the air.  Flowers emit patterns of electrical signals that can communicate information to the bumblebees.  These electrical signals can work in concert with the flower’s other cues to imbed its memory with the pollinating insect.  When a bee lands on a flower, this electric charge helps the bee and flower ‘talk’ or exchange informaton.

Researchers placed electrodes in the stems of petunias.  They found that the potential energy in the field of the petunia changed for several minutes after being visited by a bee.  The assumption, yet unproven, is that the petunia sends a signal about its diminished nectar supplies.  “The last thing a flower wants to attract is a bee and then fail to provide nectar:  since bees are good learners and would soon lose interest in such an unrewarding flower.”

Plants and bees have had a co-dependent relationship for eons.  It is not surprising that intricate mechanisms exist to ensure their mutual benefit.  The more we learn, the more we see the divine hand of God in the creation of this amazingly wonderous Earth.

For now, Earlynn’s just sayin’:  “We live in such a beautiful world.  God’s hand is seen everywhere.  Below is a picture of my gardens.  I feel God’s presence there.”

Cymatics

  • Is there a connection between sound, vibrations and physical reality?  Do sound and vibrations have the potential to create?  Below are two sound pictures.  In 1787, a jurist, musician and physicist, Ernst Chladni, published his Discoveries Concerning the Theory of Music.  His work laid the foundation for the discipline within physics that came to be called acoustics, the science of sound.  He found a way to make visible what sound waves generate.  His work demonstrated that sound actually does affect physical matter and that it has the quality of creating geometric patterns.
  • Chladni drew a violin bow  perpendicularly across the edge of a flat plate covered with sand to produce patterns and shapes known today as Chladni figures.
  • Two hundred years later in 1967, Hans Jenny, a Swiss doctor, artist and researcher published The Structure and Dynamics of Waves and Vibrations.  He took various materials like sand, spores, iron filings, water, and viscous substances, and by placing them on vibrating metal plates and membranes, he showed how various shapes and motion patterns developed.  These shapes and patterns vary from nearly perfectly ordered and stationary to those that are turbulently developing, organic and constantly in motion.  Jenny called this new area of research cymatics, which comes from the Greek kyma, wave.  His work showed that not only could you hear a melody – you could see it, too!
  • Hans Jenny worked with frequency and amplitude and found that patterns responded to varing degrees of amplitude and frequencies.  He also developed an instrument called a tonoscope which yielded the amazing possibility of being able to see the physical image of the vowel, tone or song a human being produced directly.
  •   Incredibly, Jenny found that when the vowels of the ancient languages of Hebrew and Sanskrit were pronounced, the sand took the shape of the written symbols for these vowels, while modern languages on the other hand, did not generate the same result!  How is this possible?  Did the ancients know this?  Is there something to the concept of “sacred language,” which both of these are sometimes called?  Jenny also pointed out the resemblance between the shapes and patterns of cymatics and those we see around us recurring in nature.
  • If you type “cymatics” in your search engine, you will see a lot of fascinating informaion including many YouTube videos about this field of study.  I’m sure you, like me, have felt the affect music and tones have on your physical well being.   Music and sound can excite us or calm us, put us to sleep or keep us wide awake.  It’s an amazing universe we live in.
  • For now, Earlynn’s just sayin’:  “There’s much more to music than what we hear with our ears.  We are greatly affected by the invisible power of sound.”
