When our great country, The United States of America, was founded, it was founded on great eternal spiritual truths. Our founding fathers knew our republic would flourish because it is based on the solid foundation of spiritual truth. They also understood there is a difference between things spiritual and things religious. In other words it is very possible to be non-religious and very spiritual. It is also possible to be very religious and not spiritual. Our nation is based on deep spiritual principles. Our founding fathers also knew our government must be separated from religious dogma. There must be a separation of church and state, but there is no separation of spirituality and state.
In the Declaration of Independence it is written: “We hold these truths to be self-evident that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights that among these are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. That to secure these rights governments are instituted among men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed.”
These great “self-evident” truths are not up for debate. We recognize them by their innate intrinsic value. These truths register deeply within our heart and soul. Our founding fathers spoke of being endowed by our Crestor with unalienable rights. They believed in our Creator and honored Him and called upon His help in the creation of our nation. The idea of the power of government coming from the governed was truly unique in a world controlled by royalty.
Many of our founding fathers were not religious, but they were truly spiritual and it was their intent that this nation be guided by spiritual truth. The United States of America has prospered because of deep spiritual truths. We will continue to prosper as long as our citizens believe in these spiritual truths, we will remain strong as long as our citizens move forward with the intention to preserve life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness wherever we can do so.
